KALORAMA Madrid arrives to bid farewell to the summer in style

The premiere of KALORAMA Madrid on 29, 30 and 31 August at the IFEMA Exhibition Centre is set to be the most powerful event to close the summer season thanks to a stellar line-up made up of big names from the music scene such as Sam Smith, Massive Attack, Raye, LCD Soundsystem, Peggy Gou, The Smile, Jungle and The Postal Service + Death Cab For Cutie, among many others. A mixture of a multitude of styles and genres to provide a varied soundtrack ideal for bidding farewell to the holiday month par excellence in style.

An open-air event with limited seating capacity in which different sound sensibilities converge, from pop to jazz and the widest range of electronic music. Three days to escape and immerse yourself in a musical experience where enjoyment is the norm and which will have a very special edition, arriving for the third time in Lisbon and premiering in Madrid. In addition to the confirmed artists, two new names have been added: Joe Goddard, an eminence of the most colourful synth-pop, and the emerging band Monobloc with their more carefree pop-rock.

THURSDAY 29TH AUGUST: WHEN THE EXPERIMENTAL AND THE TRADITIONAL BLEND TOGETHER

On Thursday 29 August, KALORAMA Madrid will be a powerful show where guitars in different styles and forms will play a leading role, headed by the dance-punk “tribulations” of New Yorkers LCD Soundsystem. The intergenerational indie pop of The Postal Service will combine with Ben Gibbard’s other legendary project, Death Cab for Cutie. The Smile will open the jar of alternative rock essences. Greenwood himself doubles up with Dudu Tassa & Jonny Greenwood in a cross between experimental and traditional. With a 2000s rock flavour, The Kills will be joining the indie sound of Nation of Language, the effervescent English Teacher and the aforementioned Joe Goddard.

FRIDAY 30 AUGUST, AN EXPLOSION OF AVANT-GARDE AND HITS

Virtue lies in balance and the second day of KALORAMA Madrid will showcase this with the most cross-cutting programme. The hits will be provided by RAYE, the great phenomenon of the British scene last year as the absolute queen of R&B and soul of the new millennium. The synth pop of Gossip captained by Beth Ditto promises a bacchanal of festive rhythms, while the most deconstructed electronic and pop music arrives with cult acts such as Fever Ray, the strength of Overmono, the avant-garde exploration of Yves Tumor and the fun elegance of Soulwax. For rock lovers, Yard Act will leave no prisoners, while the warmest places will arrive with the tropical pop of Colectivo Da Silva and the impeccable sensitivity of TRISTÁN!

SATURDAY 31 AUGUST, PREPARE YOUR GLITTER FOR THE MOST BRITISH SOUNDS

Saturday will feature trip-hop masters Massive Attack, the Bristol band always committed to making timeless hits since the 90s. Sam Smith is a pop totem and the voice of a whole generation, whose melodic ability has won him awards ranging from Grammys to Oscars. The clubbing essence built on the London scene is represented by South Korean Peggy Gou’. Funky and electronic music also comes from the UK with the unstoppable Jungle Collective, who turn their concerts into a party, as does Ezra Collective. We can’t forget the young Englishwoman Olivia Dean as the new hope of neo-soul and the relentless rhymes of Huda and the presence of Monobloc.

Tickets for KALORAMA Madrid 2024 will be available from 14 June through the festival’s website and at feverup.com.
