The partnership between KAWS and UNIQLO reaches a new level. After years of collaborations that have sold out within hours, the New York artist takes things further by becoming the Japanese brand’s first Artist In Residence.
The move aligns with the Art For All philosophy, through which UNIQLO has long championed that art should not be elitist but accessible. And who better than KAWS —who has made pop culture and irony his language— to open this new chapter.
It is not just about putting his graphics on T-shirts. The artist will play a key role in organising global events, collaborating with museums, and developing future LifeWear products, expanding his influence within the brand and bringing his creative universe to a much broader stage.
The first KAWS drop as UNIQLO Artist In Residence will arrive in the Autumn/Winter 2025 season.
