Kid Cudi celebrates ‘Insano’ by installing giant statues in Paris and Los Angeles

Artist Kid Cudi has once again surprised us with the release of his new album, ‘INSANE’. The album, which marks the singer’s ninth solo album, was originally scheduled to be released in 2023. However, its release was delayed, in Kid Cudi’s own words, to “make sure listeners got the best version of myself”. The 21-track album features an enviable list of collaborators. Among them are Travis Scott, who makes a double appearance, A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Pharrell, Lil Wayne and Young Thug. In addition, the album also includes an emotional posthumous appearance from the late XXXTentacion.

As part of the promotion of ‘Insano’, the American rapper installed a gigantic ephemeral statue in Paris on the day of the release. The statue, more than ten metres tall and dark in colour, depicts the artist in a half messianic, half demonic pose, with his palms up to the sky and his head down. The eyes are illuminated in red and the mouth has a lighting device that was tested during the night of Thursday to Friday for its installation. This work is located at the exit of the Bourse metro station, opposite the Palais Brongniart. In addition, there is another statue travelling by boat in Los Angeles and another installation is planned in New York.

Skepta has removed the cover artwork for his upcoming single “Gas Me Up (Diligent)” after it sparked a serious backlash among fans.
