Colm Dillane, founder of menswear brand KidSuper, has partnered with English Premier League side Barnsley FC to design kits for the 2023/24 season.
This is a new fusion between soccer and fashion, like the collaboration between AC Milan and Off-White or Paris Saint-Germain with 3.PARADIS. However, the collaboration between KidSuper and Barnsley is one that no one expected, as Colm Dillane continues to surprise with elaborate and unconventional presentations.
Dillane’s latest creation, following his work with Louis Vuitton for Paris Men’s Fashion Week, involves his own brand, KidSuper, in collaboration with PUMA, the manufacturer of Barnsley’s kits. Together they have created a home, away and third jersey for the English club.
The new kits are inspired by Barnsley FC’s rich history, and the design process began with a thorough study of the club’s crest, previous jerseys and overall legacy. The new home shirt bears striking similarities to Barnsley’s “Shaw Carpets” kit from the 1989/1990 season.
The new KidSuper x Barnsley FC shirts are now available to purchase from the official Barnsley website.
In other news, Lil Nas X is the new Crocs ambassador.
