The ordinary becomes extraordinary in this new line, which takes inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic Spring/Summer 1999 women’s collection for the House.
The pieces in the collection are infused with soft pastel tones that clash with bright oranges and yellows, creating a color palette that takes us straight back to the past. In the background, Dinah Washington’s voice with “The Bitter Earth” contributed to this feeling of sweet nostalgia during the presentation.
The show opened with a look that marked the protagonist tones of the collection; a brown midi dress with orange side, to which was added a pastel blue and white draped sash. The contrasts between fabrics caught the eye on the catwalk, with looks that combined knitwear, others with leather effect, animal print, ribbed and even satin designs.
The brand’s logo was incorporated in large sizes and different shapes on midi dresses, short dresses, and turtleneck tops. Color-blocked leather suits and jackets in browns, reds, blues and creams were followed by bright nightgowns that added movement and curved lines to the geometric collection. Tight-fitting gloves caught the eye among the accessories, accompanying the House’s iconic handbags.
