On Friday night, Kim shared on her Instagram account a carousel of photos from her SKIMS Christmas party, in which, just like ten years ago, she can be seen holding a glass with her butt – although this time it’s a cocktail and not a glass of champagne. A direct nod to her famous cover for Paper Magazine which, at the time, took the media and social networks by storm. In fact, the image was so powerful that it is estimated to have captured 1% of the web traffic in the US the day after its publication, causing a furore on Twitter (now X) and, of course, parodies all over the Internet.
The pose, which defined an entire era, has become one of the most replicated and commented on in the history of the networks. And now, almost a decade later, the celebrity revives it with a fresh, but just as risky, twist. ‘And they say I had no talent… try balancing a glass of champagne on your ass. LOL,’ she wrote herself on Twitter in 2014, just after the image went viral.
