LA ELITE is an unstoppable phenomenon. Their concerts in venues are sold out and their presence revolutionises festivals because with them on stage anything can happen. Their incendiary attitude is part of a unique musical DNA that is reflected in Escaleras Al Cielo, a second studio album in which they continue to bet on electronic rhythms in an ode to youth and vitality.
In Escaleras Al Cielo, the duo formed by Nil and Diosito kick down the door with the band’s unmistakable style: a synthpunk that is reinforced thanks to a more careful but equally raw production. Their creative resources grow and LA ÉLITE reaches a wider spectrum in their sound with pop structures and even some urban touches that give variety to the 12 songs that make up the album.
True to their provocative and defiant side, the duo’s lyrics are full of humour, touching on subjects ranging from economic and social precariousness to more dreamlike or irreverent issues such as partying for the sake of partying and little battles with friends. And it is precisely these good friends such as MDA, Diego Ibáñez, Nerve Agent or Pokito Paranoiko who are part of such a special work.
‘What drives us to make records is the need to talk about our own movements, and although we are not musicians, music is our language. It means something special because for the first time we will do it through our own label and it’s something that motivates us a lot”, says the Catalan duo about a work with which they are making their mark on the independent scene.
Escaleras Al Cielo is released by Discos GELE. LA ÉLITE keep their essence ‘Do It Yourself’ as the main engine to create their songs. ‘The only mission we have is to always enjoy everything we love and do, we come from having shitty jobs and we can’t afford not to enjoy doing what we love the most’, says LA ÉLITE.
