The anti-capitalist ode of Vaquera FW24

The New York brand presents an act of countercultural rebellion against the system.

The anti-capitalist ode of Vaquera FW24

Vaquera‘s new punk girls get naked, show their tits and subvert the establishment with dollar prints covered in lipstick kisses and the letters ‘FAKE‘. Suggestive stamps printed on their pieces that accurately represented their anti-capitalist ode on the NYFW runway.

That disruptive manifesto revolving around money translates into a collection for the fall-winter 2024 season in which its designers Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee evoke seduction through silhouettes, but also the sordidness of a reality controlled by money.

From draped dresses to fitted button-down shirts, formal ties to chunky belts are sheathed in the confrontational graphics of wealth, while fishnet scarves, faux fur fencing masks and leather gloves bring out the anarchic, countercultural spirit of the series.

The AW24 collection, loaded with symbolism, also unveils other types of pieces such as deconstructed or ripped workwear-inspired suit skirts, as well as hybrids of jeans and skirts combined with tops.

Apart from the nipple cut-outs, which captured the collective gaze of the audience, the punk label also stood out for the use of veils and conical bras with metallic touches, which ended up shaking and distorting Vaquera’s runway for NYFW 24′.
