Lanvin will make its long-awaited official return to the Paris Fashion Week calendar at the end of January 2025. The runway show will be the debut of its newly appointed Artistic Director, Peter Copping, who will present his first collection for the maison. The runway show, designed as an intimate experience, will reveal the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections for the Fall-Winter 2025 season, promising to embody the concept of le Chic Ultime that Jeanne Lanvin defined as the essence of supreme style.
With a distinguished career at some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, Peter Copping is already a fixture on the international fashion scene. A British-born graduate of Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London, he began his career at Sonia Rykiel and worked for more than a decade at Louis Vuitton alongside Marc Jacobs as head of women’s fashion. He then took on creative leadership roles at Nina Ricci in Paris and Oscar de la Renta in New York, where de la Renta himself, a former Lanvin designer, appointed him as his successor.
Most recently, Copping led Balenciaga’s couture ateliers, overseeing the reintroduction of its couture collections, and served as Head of VIP and Special Projects. In September 2024, he joined Lanvin as Artistic Director, with the responsibility of being the director of the women’s and men’s fashion collections.
Founded in 1889, Lanvin adopted a new direction two years ago, reaffirming Jeanne Lanvin’s visionary concept of le Chic Ultime as the guiding principle of its creative approach. This change marked the beginning of a renewed era for the house, which now combines its heritage with a modern vision to lead in the industry. The January show promises to be a reaffirmation of its position and a statement of intent. Under the direction of Peter Copping, the maison looks set to write a new chapter in its rich history, fusing tradition and innovation in a moment of revelation that will set the course for its future.
