L’Art de L’Automobile and Nike join forces for a partnership that breathes motorsport

Nike and Jordan Brand are no strangers to fusing their passion for sneakers with motorsport: iconic examples include the Ferrari 550-inspired Air Jordan 14, the SB Dunk Low ‘Gulf’ and ‘Pink Pig’ that evoke the Porsche 917/20 and Ford GT40, or the Kobe 5 and Hyperdunk, which pay homage to Kobe Bryant’s Aston Martin DB9. But this time, Nike has invited a true titan of motoring, L’Art de L’Automobile, to reissue the Air Force 1 Low.

Arthur Kar, the mastermind behind L’Art de L’Automobile, unveiled this new creation. The silhouette, in a sleek black monochrome, is complemented by a midsole and Swoosh in a glossy finish. The real touches of distinction are in the details: a discreet nod to the Porsche 968 and the iconic ‘L’art’ (without apostrophe) replacing the usual ‘Air’ on the sole graphic, reinventing Nike’s classic identity.

Although this is the first time L’Art de L’Automobile has partnered directly with Nike, the brand already has an enviable track record in the world of footwear. This year they collaborated with Salomon to launch a capsule inspired by a legendary Le Mans winner, which followed their vibrant debut collaboration with Salomon in 2022. In addition, L’Art de L’Automobile has made its mark in collaborations with Vans and NOCTA.

For now, the release date and further details about this long-awaited collaboration remain a mystery.

The next Hot Step 2 will come in an all-black option.
