The iconic stylist Law Roach, responsible for the image of great artists such as Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Lil Durk, Celine Dion or Tom Holland, among others, announced yesterday his retirement from the industry.
The news came in the form of an Instagram post with a ‘RETIRED’ sign and a caption explaining the situation: “My glass is empty… thanks to everyone who has supported me and my career throughout these years. Every single person who trusted me with their image…. I am very grateful. If this business was only about clothes, I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it is not. Politics, lies and false narratives have done me in. You win. I’m out.”
We don’t know what exactly he means by “lies and false narratives” but what we do know is that at the last Louis Vuitton show held during Paris Fashion Week, Roach was not seated next to Zendaya. A detail that, without a doubt, gives food for thought.
It is also not known if this is a complete retirement from the industry or just from the styling profession, nor if it will be a definitive or temporary decision…. We will soon find out.
