'Le Damier' by Louis Vuitton: An exquisite fine jewellery collection

The Maison is pleased to welcome a new chapter in its history where the iconic Damier motif once again takes centre stage.

As part of Paris Fashion Week, we had the pleasure of discovering first-hand the Le Damier collection, made up of exclusive and modern jewellery that delicately blends LV‘s historical codes with a unique magnetism and aura of infinity. But to understand the importance of this proposal, it is necessary to go back to 1888, the year in which Louis Vuitton and his son Georges Vuitton decided to create a clear and recognisable identity. It was then that the Damier print was born, inspired by the eights that mark his date of birth, and a symbol of expression of limitless eternity.

Throughout its history, it has adorned boots and pieces of luggage, enshrining the codes of originality and authenticity that have always been intrinsic to the Maison’s creations and that have remained intact to this day, transcending time.

Now, it comes to High Jewellery through its exquisite proposal presented in yellow and white gold, in the form of square pieces of gold and diamonds that make up the unmistakable Damier. The ring takes on special prominence, thanks to its purity and dynamism, structuring the entire collection in three thicknesses and two different models. The first, designed for everyday wear, features two shimmering rows of gold and diamonds; the second, much more graphic, is composed of four rows of gold and diamonds.

We also find a bracelet inspired by the casual luxury of the classic tennis bracelet. Soft, delicate and supple, it combines the Louis Vuitton heritage in a unique design. Finally, the round diamond studded pendant on a fine yellow gold chain completes the collection along with a pair of hoop earrings, also in yellow gold with diamonds.

‘In this diamond collection, it’s not just the gems that count, but the motif they create,’ says Francesca Amfitheatrof, Creative Director of Watches and Jewellery at the brand. ‘Le Damier de Louis Vuitton represents everything that modern jewellery is about,’ she adds.
