Leonardo DiCaprio becomes a major investor in ID Genève

The independent Swiss watchmaker shared at a recent press conference that it has received a 2 million Swiss franc investment from DiCaprio along with other investors.

The carrier of IG Genève argues that the actor invests in the hope of raising awareness of luxury watchmaking with sustainable practices. DiCaprio wears in the image shared by the brand the Circular S Sun Dial, a golden yellow watch composed 100% of recycled steel melted in a solar oven.

Nicolas Freudiger, co-founder of ID Genève, shared to Hypebeast: “Our vision behind the watches is to play an active role in the ecological transition and have a positive impact on the industry and our planet. The luxury industry is evolving, and we have a responsibility to shed light on solutions to climate change. We have always been interested in working with a global environmental advocate like Leonardo DiCaprio, and we are delighted to welcome him as an investor and environmental advocate for the brand.”
