In the new collection, craftsmanship continues to intertwine with art through a collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation.
For LOEWE, fashion is always about research, archives and cultural movement. That is why the pieces now become tactile surfaces that dialogue with the history of modern art: Josef Albers‘ Homage to the Square is reinterpreted in volumes and coats, while Anni Albers‘ pictorial fabrics inspire textures that celebrate thread as an artistic language.
Photographer Arnaud Lajeunie translates this universe into intense, frontal portraits that function as pages in a collective notebook. A creative community brings the project to life: Jiang Qiming, Lesley Manville, Felix Kammemer, and Raffey Cassidy, among others.
Close-ups and full-length shots turn coats, bags and leather goods into silent protagonists. Every texture can be physically perceived. The accessories complete this narrative with precision: the Collage glasses and Shield Mask add a futuristic dimension, while the Puzzle, Madrid, Flamenco and Amazona bags are reimagined in sculptural still lifes alongside the Toy Mules, Comic sandals and Ballet Runner.
It is the latest collection designed by Jonathan Anderson, and it shows.
