On 27 June, Lorde released her long-awaited fourth album through Republic Records. Just a few days later, she is already hinting that there could be more to come with a possible b-side on the way.
During a fan meeting in New York, where she also premiered the track ‘What Was That’, the New Zealand singer indirectly confirmed that the album was on the way. And she delivered. Now, from her X account, she has shared: “We cut a song at the last minute because I felt it diluted the vision. There are a couple of really good B-sides out there, actually.”
Without further details, the possibility of a sequel is already a topic of conversation among its fandom.
Since before its official release, Virgin had been trending on TikTok and searches like ‘Lorde Virgin Vinyl’ exploded on Google Trends. Clearly, the four-year hiatus hasn’t dampened interest.

While there is no official confirmation of any b-side being released yet, the simple knowledge that they exist feeds the narrative of an era that, like Lorde previous ones, seems designed to reveal itself in layers.
