Louis Vuitton becomes Official Partner of Formula 1®

Through a strategic alliance that will take the relationship between motor racing and haute couture to a new level.

With a ten-year contract, the Maison places itself at the heart of the action by becoming Official Partner of F1® and Title Partner of the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton Australian Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix 2025 to be held in Melbourne. A partnership that not only unites two seemingly distant worlds, but also reinforces a shared vision of excellence, innovation and unwavering triumphs.

This year, the sporting championship celebrates no less than 75 years of history, and what better way to celebrate than by allowing LV to make a strong entry into its territory, reaffirming its presence in the world of high-performance sport. Since its first approach to motorsport, the House has shown that it knows how to fuse style and speed with great skill.

Its link with Formula 1® began with participation in the Automobile Club de Monaco between 2021 and 2024, with the creation of an exclusive Trophy Trunk for the Monaco Grand Prix. Since then, the Trophy Trunk has become a symbol of victory, not only in this discipline, but also at major global sporting events such as the FIFA™ World Cup, the Ballon d’Or® and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In 2025, this partnership extends to new frontiers, with Louis Vuitton taking pride of place at the Australian Grand Prix, which will take place on 16 March in Melbourne. This event will be the first where the Maison will highlight its presence with unique signage on the tracks, a first that underlines the importance of this partnership. In addition, the Trophy Trunk will not only take centre stage before the races, but will also be placed on the podium to celebrate the winners, consolidating the idea that ‘victory travels in Louis Vuitton’.

Since the early 20th century, LV has been associated with luxury vehicle craftsmanship, creating boots and accessories designed specifically for use in cars. In 1897, Georges Vuitton, son of the founder, pioneered the manufacture of hardwearing boots for car transport, made from an innovative material he created himself: ‘Vuittonite’. This fabric not only offered resistance, but was also in line with the House’s vision of accompanying the most demanding journeys with elegance and functionality.

Today, that same philosophy is found in the new Trophy Trunks devised especially for F1®, where the iconic ‘V’ – representing both Vuitton and victory – is integrated into the design, adapting to the colours of each race and maintaining the unmistakable touch of distinction that only Louis Vuitton can offer. Each trophy is a work of art that, beyond its symbolic function, is a tribute to teamwork, precision and innovation, values that unite LV with F1®.

‘I am immensely proud of this partnership between Louis Vuitton and Formula 1, with our shared ambition to always strive for innovation, craftsmanship and precision. The synergy of our two worlds is reflected in the savoir faire of our workshops and garages, craftsmen and engineers, while celebrating the extraordinary performance of champion drivers from around the world who embark on a journey of excellence in every race,’ says Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton.
