Louis Vuitton celebrates five contemporary artists

His latest proposal takes the form of a collection of limited edition silk scarves.

To carry out this interesting project, the Maison decided to enlist Thomas Ott, Nicolas de Crécy, Lorenzo Mattotti, Icinori and eBoy to reinterpret, each with their own particular vision, its emblematic four-petalled flower. The result is four wonderful, collectable works of art that also serve as a canvas for contemporary art.

The Maze of Precious scarf, designed by eBoy, features the LV logo in the centre of a multicoloured maze that blends in with the other elements of the monogram. The option offered by Incori emphasises and celebrates the savoir-faire and tradition involved in the house’s trunk-making process, while the Iris Spring model signed by Mattotti focuses on a flower found in the stained-glass windows of the Vuitton family’s house.

De Crécy‘s Parfums de Méditerranée immortalises the natural landscape of Grasse (Provence) where gardens inspire the fashion house’s fragrances; and Ott‘s idea, entitled Urban Flowers, depicts a tree with a human heart in black and white.

All designs will be available from 30 August on louisvuitton.com.
