Louis Vuitton reinvents men’s tailoring with ‘New Formal’ for FW25

Louis Vuitton welcomes 2025 with New Formal, its FW25 men’s pre-collection, a bold, avant-garde reinterpretation of classic tailoring. Under the creative direction of Pharrell Williams, the collection fuses elegance and modernity, redefining menswear with an explosion of handcrafted details and a palette of sophisticated tones. Timeless cuts blend with a sporty attitude and luxurious materials, creating a collection that defies expectations of traditional tailoring.

Classic colours – shimmering silver, violet, navy with pinstripes and monochrome black and white – serve as the basis for a reinterpretation of Louis Vuitton’s highest codes. The Maison’s iconic motifs, such as embossed leather, silk jacquard and rhinestone detailing, are masterfully deployed, celebrating both tradition and avant-garde savoir-faire.

Pharrell reinterprets classic patterns, introducing new cuts such as flared trousers, double-breasted tailored jackets and reversible waistcoats. The collection takes versatility to a new level, combining pieces such as a wool tweed zip-up tracksuit and a wool knitted jacket with leather detailing. Sporty aesthetics mix with tailoring and cocktail style, creating a perfect balance between sporty and sophisticated.

The details of the line evolve with precision: cigarette-cut virgin wool trousers, jackets with adjustable waistbands, and poplin shirts with Monogram on silk define a new vision of men’s tailoring. Dinner jackets, silk pyjamas and collarless jackets are reinvented with Monogram in new shapes and versions, while eveningwear takes on shine with pearl details and sophisticated textures. The Napolitana and Pont Neuf jackets are joined by the new Gaston, which, with its straighter waistband, gives shape to a powerful and meaningful profile.

The journey is not without style: the leather goods are redesigned with a modern approach, with wheeled boots and aluminium reinforcements, as well as the classic Keepall 50 and the Sac Plat 24h in monochrome tones with the Monogram as standard. The LV Aerogram line, designed for the modern traveller, includes backpacks, tote bags and Keepalls with nylon and jacquard details, while the Millesime leather line, made from lambskin, comes in a refined pouch.

Footwear is also a protagonist: Auteuil loafers in patent leather with Damier print, derbies and Chelsea boots in waxed calfskin, and the classic Sorbonne loafer, all with details such as the Eclipse Monogram or leather and rubber soles. The Major loafer, with LV buckle and galvanised calfskin, is another key element of this collection.

Accessories complement the collection perfectly, from the wool and silk waistcoats to the printed silk pocket squares and ties, which incorporate the LV logo with hotfix technology and pearl detailing. LV Confidence and LV Legacy eyewear, with new designs in Japanese acetate, complete the contemporary man’s look.

New Formal is available from 20 February in Louis Vuitton shops, marking a milestone in the evolution of men’s tailoring.

The Maison announces its latest boot creation, designed to house the Formula 1 World Championship trophy.
