Mad Cool Festival announces the first confirmed artists for its 2024 edition

Mad Cool Festival announces the first confirmed line-up for its next edition, which will take place from 10 to 13 July 2024 in Villaverde, Madrid with a total of 104 national and international artists.

The new edition of Mad Cool Festival will be inaugurated on Wednesday 10th July with DUA LIPA as the main headliner. The British artist, with her new single Houdini, will take the stage for the second time at Mad Cool Festival. The first day of this new edition will also be the turn of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, who together with GARBAGE will be the bands in charge of bringing us the essence of nineties grunge. JANELLE MONÁE and her fusion of soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, new wave… will bring a very energetic conceptual approach to the day.

The national scene will feature RELS B, urban pop and rap with which he has taken his project a step further. The American singer-songwriter SOCCER MOMMY will also take the stage with her style, which represents a new wave of female artists to keep an eye on. JET VESPER will be in charge of creating a Californian, comforting and contemporary atmosphere with his strong roots in 70s funk.

The English NOTHING BUT THIEVES will present their latest album “Dead Club City”, starring in an electrifying live show where the powerful voice of Conor Manson will be the protagonist. TOM ODELL will also be key on Wednesday, the British singer and songwriter will make songs like “Another Love” be chanted by the whole audience. The first day will also feature JAMES ARTHUR, KENYA GRACE, CRAWLERS, JULIETA, SWIM SCHOOL, CARLITA, KID FRANCESCOLI, PARRA FOR CUVA AND CLAUDIA LEÓN.

Thursday 11th will be starred by the sound of Seattle, or what is the same, PEARL JAM. 6 years since his performance at Mad Cool 2018, Eddie Vedder returns, and with him, anthems like “Alive” “Better Man” or “Rearviewmirror” that travel from generation to generation. Looking at the Mad Cool 2024 line-up and sharing a row with PEARL JAM, we find MOTXILA 21, the real headliners of Mad Cool 2024. The band belongs to the Down Syndrome Association of Navarra, which Mad Cool will support this year by donating part of the profits from the festival’s Charity.

With more than 15 years on stage, its 15 members continue to demonstrate that the love of music and the spirit of self-improvement can take you wherever you want, breaking all limits and established barriers. The Kiszka brothers, better known as GRETA VAN FLEET, will return to Mad Cool Festival with their stage show and style inspired by the purest seventies rock, a real spectacle. Also spectacular will be the live performance of LARKIN POE, who will bring the blues and raw riffs of southern roots to the festival.

The second day will also feature performances by KEANE in his long-awaited return to the stage, who together with the hypnotic voice and charismatic guitar of MICHAEL KIWANUKA will star in a list of anthems that the Mad Cool audience won’t stop chanting. Another of Thursday’s “key names” will be the German PAUL KALKBRENNER, a unique artist who has made techno and the Berlin scene a revolution. Still in the electronic music scene, we find BONOBOBO, British producer, composer, musician and DJ dubbed the pioneer of dowtempo.

A whirlwind of pure adrenaline, the Colombians BOMBA ESTÉREO will bring to Thursday their fusion of electronica, reggae, cumbia, champeta, rock… On Thursday you can also enjoy performances by MANDO DIAO, SOFI TUKKER, THE HEAVY, BLACK HONEY, KNEECAP, BLANCO WHITE, MERINA GRIS, MERINO, LAWRENCE, PIEM, CC:DISCO!, ADIEL, SUGAR FREE AND LOLA BOZZANO.

SUM 41 will come to revolutionise the day on Friday 12th with one of the most incendiary live performances of the day. Britain’s JESSIE WARE promises big doses of disco revival with songs like “Say You Love Me” and “Free Yourself”. On Friday we will be able to enjoy BLACK PUMAS and their project full of good taste and psychedelic southern-style soul which, after a short break, is back stronger than ever. Also expected will be the UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA, the New Zealand band based in Portland and led by Ruban Nielson, will bring their mix of styles to star in one of the most innovative live performances of the day.

MOCHAKK will star in the electronic part, the world-acclaimed DJ and producer will up the ante on Friday, sharing the day with other names such as TOM MORELLO (guitarist of Rage Against the Machine) and the charismatic THE BREEDERS, one of the key groups that helped to understand the emergence of alternative rock in the nineties. ALVVAYS, SLEAFORD MODS, ACID ARAB DJ SET, STAY HOMAS, GILIPOJAZZ, πL.T., DJ KOZE, JAYDA G, DANILO PLESSOW AND LOLA HARO will also be performing on the same day. More big names to be added to Friday’s line-up will be unveiled soon.

AVRIL LAVIGNE returns to Madrid after 20 years without visiting the capital, his concert will be part of his 2024 tour, which will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of Mad Cool Festival 2024. Along with the Canadian, the day of Saturday 13th will feature BRING ME THE HORIZON who, after selling out their last tour in Spain, come to Mad Cool 2024 to infect their fandom and break with their breakdowns that characterize them so much. American rock band THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM will bring us a good dose of punk rock energy, presenting their new album “History Books”.

British singer-songwriter ARLO PARKS will transport us with her immersive and cinematic sound, exploring and giving voice to the feelings of generation Z. On Saturday we can also enjoy GENESIS OWUSU, an overwhelming personality who explores what lies beyond R&B, approaching styles as diverse as trip hop, grime or even classical balladry.

THE BLESSED MADONNA and her mythical remixes have toured the world, making a stop at Mad Cool Festival 2024, undoubtedly one of the events not to be missed at the next edition of the festival. ASHNIKKO will star in one of the most eclectic dates on Saturday, delighting the audience with his already viral tracks “Stupid” and “Daisy”. The last day will also feature performances by NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATS, THE WARNING, CHINCHILLA, JOEL CULPEPPER, HE.SHE.THEY LIVE, ANOTR, AXEL BOMAN AND HONEYLUV.
