MAGLIANO experiments with the classics on its FW23

Luca Magliano presents a FW23 collection for men and women in which the slowness of the models invites reflection and analysis.

Magliano FW23 is the calm of the working man (and woman). A necessary calm in these frenetic times. Perhaps Luca Magliano is swimming against the tide; or perhaps it is the beginning of a different course for those to come.

The playground where MAGLIANO(@magliano.insta) experiments in his FW23 is a space filled with 2000 chairs that become an unstable wall illuminated by spotlights, which acts as a backdrop for the catwalk. They are the same chairs on which the public sits, but deprived of their functionality. This deprivation of functionality in the chairs is reserved only and exclusively for Magliano’s clothes. Designed for the working man and everyday life, Magliano FW23 is the most efficient and practical tailoring we can throw in our faces.

The energy generated by Luca Magliano is that of absolute tranquility. And in the midst of that tranquility he launches on the catwalk a mixed collection for men and women that invites us to exercise something unusual nowadays: observation.

The sense of the garments is taken to the limit, to the outside, to the margin. And Luca Magliano leaves us no choice but to observe and reflect on it. The Magliano man walks quietly through space, to provide the time needed to understand and admire what is seen.

And when we take the time to observe each piece, we realize that Magliano finds in tailoring the primal and primordial look.  The garments intertwine, interweave, knot, transform, becoming hybrid and dynamic. Magliano’s classics are dressed up with new elements that make them more interesting. Old military blankets are recycled and transformed into robes. Cashmere sweaters are reconditioned and the down in quilted jackets is obtained from flowers, making it purely biodegradable.

Along with tailoring, utilitarian garments and the recurring denim appear. But the icing on the cake comes from U-power, a leading manufacturer of safety footwear. Together with him, Magliano celebrates his particular hero: the worker. A tribute to the most chic: fatigue, “il travaglio“.
