Man arrested after impersonating a mannequin to rob a store

A 22-year-old man was arrested after posing as a mannequin for several hours to pass unnoticed by security cameras in a shopping centre in Warsaw, Poland. His aim was to rob a jewellery shop inside the shop.

The suspect waited until the mall closed its doors to start moving and carry out the robbery. The subject remained motionless until he believed it was safe, then proceeded to wander through different areas of the mall. Authorities released an image of the man standing in front of a store window while holding a bag in an attempt to be mistaken for a mannequin.

The young man has also been accused of stealing food from a bar and stealing designer clothes from the mall on a different day. One of the cameras caught him sneaking under the partially open shutter of a designer goods shop. Seeing what was happening, security personnel moved in to arrest him and turn him over to local authorities. He now faces a possible sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Audemars Piguet has a solution to the theft of its watches.
