The image, captured in 2017 from the street, showed the man’s bare backside as he walked within his property, behind a wall nearly two metres high. The photo, published on Google Street View, also displayed his house number and the name of the street. It quickly went viral on social media and in local news.

The man reported being mocked by neighbours and colleagues. Initially, the court dismissed his claim, arguing that it was his responsibility not to appear undressed in an area visible from public space. Google maintained that the perimeter wall was too low to block the camera’s view.

However, an appeals court later ruled in his favour, stating that the image had not been taken in a public space, but within his private property. The court also criticised Google for failing to apply its standard practice of blurring sensitive content, such as faces and number plates.

Google has been ordered to pay him 16,143,600 Argentine pesos for appearing naked on Street View.
