Maria Grazia Chiuri establishes new connections between Paris and New York

Through the charismatic personality of Marlene Dietrich, Monsieur Dior‘s undisputed muse, the creative director updates her autumn designs.

Last night, Dior’ s RTW Fall 2024 fashion show took place in the city that never sleeps. Many celebrities such as Charlize TheronAnna Taylor-JoyHaerinRachel ZeglerNaomi WattsMichelle Williams and Karlie Klossattended the event and discovered the new collection first hand.

As she does every autumn season, Maria Grazia Chiuri embarks on a reflective journey through unique constructions, new materials, new cuts and creativity to fuse the Dior silhouette with the youthful charm of actress Marlene Dietrich, an indispensable figure in this collection and in the history of Dior. At the same time, it establishes a deep connection and an emotional celebration of New York, the metropolis that received the iconic Statue of Liberty as a gift from the French to the United States at the end of the 19th century.

This homage is brought to life by the prints that flourish in large format on numerous pieces in the shape of this historic monument as well as the Eiffel Tower; and also with tweeds from a selection of English menswear fabrics. Dietrich’ s suits marked a turning point in the revolution in women’s fashion, causing a scandal and giving women the right to choose their own attire.

We find loose-fitting trousers and pencil skirts below the knee; dresses that recall the aesthetics of the 1940s and slip dresses that stand out for their lace details. Scroll through the galleries and discover all the details.
