The Roman House opens a new chapter in its history.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, known for her feminist vision and her ability to fuse craftsmanship and cultural discourse, has just been appointed Creative Director of FENDI. The designer thus takes on one of the most iconic roles within the LVMH group, after having been part of the Dior team for almost a decade.
“Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today, and I am delighted that she has chosen to return to Fendi to continue expressing her creativity within the LVMH group, after sharing her bold vision of fashion. Surrounded by the Fendi teams and in a city she loves, I am convinced that Maria Grazia will contribute to the artistic renewal and future success of the Maison, while perpetuating its unique heritage,” said Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH Group, with great enthusiasm.
For her part, the acclaimed creative director says she is returning to FENDI ‘with honour and joy, after having had the privilege of starting my career under the guidance of the House’s founders, the five sisters. FENDI has always been a talent incubator and a starting point for many creatives in the industry, thanks to these five women’s extraordinary ability to foster and nurture generations of vision and skill.’
His first collection for the House will be presented in Milan next February.
