As part of Marni Jam, a multidisciplinary programme that brings together Marni and like-minded entities in a series of creative exchanges, the brand has decided to collaborate with No Vacancy Inn on a kaleidoscopic collection for this summer. The campaign was captured by Ghanaian artist Derrick Ofosu Boateng, who portrayed the collection on the sands of Accra.
No Vacancy Inn – a creation of Tremaine Emory, Ade “Acyde” Odunlami and Brock Korsan – is the kindred spirit of Marni. They have therefore decided to collaborate on a ready-to-wear collection that also includes accessories and footwear. MARNI x NO VACANCY INN features exclusive prints, patchwork overlays and fluid silhouettes.
Matching T-shirts and shorts, midi dresses and one-piece swimming costumes arrive in a psychedelic print. Palm trees and clouds appear on baggy jeans, mini skirts and jumpsuits; lightweight knitted jumpers, cardigans and dresses arrive in rainbow prints, while crochet bikini tops paired with shorts reflect 70s nostalgia.
The capsule offers a new take on Marni’s signature bags and accessories such as the “Venice” and “Marcel” bags in raffia with frayed rope handles and contrasting leather trims, as well as a series of tote and pouch bags. All with a marine theme.
In addition, the collection features denim-covered Fussbett sabots, leather gladiator sandals and “Dada Bumper” trainers with cloud and bird patterns. The accessories range includes raffia hats, sunglasses, hats, baseball caps and beach visors in different colour combinations.
MARNI x NO VACANCY INN will be launched on Marni.com, in Marni boutiques and selected multi-brand shops in Europe and the United States on 20 April 2023 and will be available in Asia from 27 April.
