Beauty is that white rabbit running through the garden, always just out of reach. You chase it, but in that frantic race you discover a parallel world, a place you never imagined. Beauty is not the destination, it’s the speed. A tribute to that energy is what Marni Spring/Summer 2025 VOL.2 proposes, transforming its showroom into a sensory journey where design becomes pure visual electricity.
Under the direction of Francesco Risso, this collection moves away from the traditional idea of a fashion show to present us with a subtle but revolutionary evolution. Risso plunges us into a universe where the artisanal and the conceptual merge, creating a kind of fantastic zoology: roses blooming between seams, rhinestones twinkling, fragments of fabrics flowing like visual poetry. And then, the pages of literature-sewn, not printed-attach to the garments.
Here, beauty is deconstructed to its purest, most essential form. Cotton, leather and suede star in the narrative, while thread, that basic and eternal element, becomes the symbol of design in its rawest form. Curated by Carlos Nazario, each piece is presented as an extension of the self, without unnecessary layers or pretense, celebrating the organic, the free, the true.
The music, created by Dev Hynes, is another highlight: pure minimalism, just three pianos played in sync by Hynes, Sharleen Chidiac and Adam Tendler. Inspired by Julius Eastman, the soundtrack transforms the space into a live performance, where the models, choreographed by Chidiac, wander in groups of three, breaking with any traditional catwalk structure. It’s as if you were taken by the hand through an enchanted forest, a fairy tale with a Marni touch.
Beauty is a gesture, an intention. And this gesture unfolds inside Marni’s dream factory, that place where collections are constructed and deconstructed with the same delicacy with which a garment is sewn, torn and put back together again. This is the romance of Marni: the perpetual yearning to chase rabbits that never stop running.
