Two of the most powerful voices to emerge in recent years, Dominican-Italian singer YEИDRY and Belgian-Congolese artist, Lous and the Yakuza, release their new track “Mascarade” as an exclusive for A COLORS SHOW.
Giving us the gift of exquisite vocals in Spanish and French respectively, YEИDRY and Lous demonstrate the alchemy of their voices and their authentic and intimate friendship throughout the performance recorded in the city of Paris. “I can say that this song is about racism, and above all, prejudice. What I’m saying in the chorus is ‘before you talk to me, take off your mask’ because I feel like all of us, including myself, are sometimes prejudiced towards other people,” YEИDRY explains about the meaning of the song.
With their unique precedents and unquestionable talents, there is no doubt that YEИDRY and Lous are paving the way for a new generation of female artists. “Mascarade” marks the first song for the Afro-Latin singer and songwriter as 2022 begins. Last week she was seen on the streets of Paris for Fashion Week, attending shows by KENZO (Nigo’s debut as creative director) and Jean Paul Gaultier (the brand to which her outift in COLORS belongs), among others.
This year YEИDRY made her debut at the major US festival, Austin City Limits. He also performed at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York and in November he took the stage at the Corona Capital Music Festival in Mexico and ended the year as the face of Spotify’s ‘Frequency’ and ‘Equal’ campaigns. Just before the year closed, YEИDRY topped the ‘Best of 2021’ list with his single “YA” which was named one of ‘Barack Obama’s Best Songs of 2021’.
