Japanese streetwear designer VERDY has announced on Instagram that he will be collaborating with McDonald’s.
The designer and artist posted a video teaser on social media combining the fast food restaurant’s classic Golden Arches with VERDY’s “Best Friends Forever” characters. The main element of the collaboration features VERDY’s iconic Vick character teaming up with McDonald’s Hamburglar and Speedee characters.
The fun collaboration includes an apparel collection that combines both brands’ motifs on football jerseys, hoodies, varsity jackets, t-shirts, tote bags and chain necklaces. The clothing collection is inspired by the new themed packaging that brings Vick and the “BFF” concept to life.
The typography is the same as VERDY’s Girls Don’t Cry branding. It is currently unclear if VERDY will also have his own exclusive menu to accompany the merchandising collaboration as previous artists have had, whether it be Travis Scott or J Blavin. For now, VERDY x McDonald’s will be available until 2 January 2024 in China.
