Mia Khalifa is an Aries girl, there’s no doubt about it. Her spunky spirit permeates everything she does. That’s why the London brand has selected the former porn star for not one, but two of its latest projects: the new AW23 campaign and a photo book.
Mia by Aries is the ‘Z’ shaped book that merges two different projects; a preview of the brand’s new AW23 campaign, followed by a set of intimate portraits of Khalifa. The photos with the artist were taken in the seaside town of Whitstable by Clare Shilland. The book also includes an interview with Mia by activist and writer Deba Hekmat.
The book offers an intimate look at Mia at her home on the coast of England. “I was immediately inspired by Mia’s ‘Punk’ attitude. She is strong but extremely humble, and beneath her bright appearance here is a tough young woman who has had to fight her way through so much adversity. I wanted to capture her wild spirit; raw and unpolished,” explains Aries founder Sofia Prantera.
In the campaign images Mia appears in the collection’s most iconic garments such as the tight-fitting lingerie dresses, the classic ‘No problemo’ T-shirt, denim two-piece sets and graphic tights. In addition, the artist also wears a lingerie jumpsuit with two bows, a balaclava or a red corset. And to our surprise, in one image she wears a suit in the shape of a penis.
