‘Miutine’ is the irreverent fragrance from Miu Miu

It comes in a caramel-coloured matelassé bottle and twists with a carefree fruity and gourmet twist.

Miu Miu has never followed the rules, and neither will its new fragrance. It is called Miutine, and it stands as an intimate gesture, a personal, independent, almost invisible statement. The name says it all: it is a nod to the French term mutine—rebellious spirit—twisted mischievously into the DNA of the Italian fashion house.

Created by Dominique Ropion, the composition draws on the chypre family, the eternal canon of women’s perfumery, and immediately takes an unexpected gourmand turn. The opening is an effervescent burst of Mara des Bois wild strawberry, that unique and hedonistic variety that Ropion calls the ‘queen of Mara’. Its juiciness gives way to a floral heart of gardenia and jasmine soufflé, balanced by the earthy depth of patchouli and oak moss. The sweetness is intensified with an accord of brown sugar and bourbon vanilla, creating an almost edible texture.

In the words of the perfumer himself, ‘the regressive vitality of wild strawberries brings spontaneous and lively joy. It is a perfume for oneself, far from any gaze.’

The bottle translates the Miu Miu language into glass. The iconic matelassé pattern is reinterpreted in a chestnut tone, paying homage to classic leather accessories. The neck features the House’s black and white typography, while the cap—lacquered in glossy black and inspired by a sequin—adds a touch of sophisticated irony that only Miu Miu can pull off.

Directed by Hailey Benton Gates and starring Emma Corrin, the campaign features a short film in which the muse looks up the word Miutine in the dictionary. What she finds is not a fixed definition, but a moving portrait of that irreverent spirit.
