MM6 Maison Margiela FW22 elevates utilitarianism

For the Autumn/Winter 2022 season, MM6 Maison Margiela wants to exalt the beauty of utilitarianism. The brand turns its militaristic aesthetic on its head, reinventing practical silhouettes.

With an elevated utilitarian aesthetic, the collection takes shape in squared off-the-shoulder suits, seamless wool jackets with exaggerated peak lapels and long boomerang sleeves, loose fitting trousers, sculptural outerwear and more. Combining fashion and function, the garments are brought to life in a variety of leather, wool, cotton and nylon fabrics, washed in shades of green, peach, grey, black, pink, blue and brown.

From a leather blazer to a pink square-cut suit, tailoring remains a highlight of the collection. Other standout pieces include outerwear such as nylon bomber jackets with ruffles and fur detailing, an oversized wool and leather varsity jacket, crossover coats and oversized jackets. The collection is presented with Salomon trainers and heeled ankle boots from MM6.
