MM6 Maison Margiela presented its SS26 collection at Milan Fashion Week in an unusual format. The runway was the street, right in front of its renovated flagship on Via della Spiga.
The concept of “heightened normality” defined the proposal, true to the essence of MM6 as the closest and most functional line within the Margiela universe. No frills: models walking one after another in black sunglasses and with a relaxed attitude.
As for the garments, we saw raw hems, transparent inserts, trompe l’oeil cuts and reinterpreted classic silhouettes — suits, trousers and tailoring pieces that are part of the brand’s usual language.
The MM6 Margiela SS26 show notes made it clear: “On the street anything can happen, and improvisation rules.”
