Martine Rose reinterprets the Nike Shox silhouette to update it through her own language, creating a sleeker, edgier style.
It’s not the first time that the iconic British-Jamaican designer has rescued iconic models and transformed them under her unique and innovative vision. She did it in 2019 with the Monarch IV by adding protuberances. Now it’s the turn of the Nike Shox MR4, a sneaker that debuted in 2000 and finds the perfect moment for an update with Martine Rose.
Two new versions were unveiled just over a week ago at the brand’s SS23 show in Vauxhall, London. However, only the details of the ‘Black Red’ colourway have been revealed: square toe, tighter sidewalls and a sleeker, sharper aesthetic thanks to the raised heel. In addition, reflective detailing has been included on the laces and toe cap, while the Shox pistons appear in bright red.
The second model, in white, is expected to go on sale soon.
