Following in the wake of its Big Red Boots in 2023, MSCHF has taken it upon itself to hype and caricature other maxi boots this year, even before their release, turning them into a new collector’s item that it would present in a campaign starring Spike Lee.
The collective once again ironises fashion in the new MSCHF “Timbs” silhouette, presented as a sort of exaggerated replica of Timberland’s famous 6-inch boot.
These ‘2x4s‘ ‘built to step in some pockets’, as their description says, are all rubber soled. The platform boot features a boot tread pulled through the body of the boot, with an upper also constructed from rubber soles. Meanwhile, the eyelets and some representative details on the upper of the boot are directly reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s ‘Blossom’ motif.
Finally, this MSCHF version features a black quilted leather ankle collar that wraps around the entire model, as well as a black and brown lacing system that is also reminiscent of the footwear brand.
The MSCHF 2×4 will go on sale on 19 March for around $400 at mschf.com, and we’ve already had the chance to see them for ourselves, as you can see in the Instagram clip.
