The American designer, considered one of the most exciting figures on the current scene, opens a new chapter at Thierry Mugler with a men’s range, after a decade of inactivity, in this sense.
Casey Cadwallader continues to construct avant-garde pieces in a palette of neutral tones, with blood red standing out, stimulated by BDSM aesthetics, sex and eroticism for the Pre-Fall 2024 season.
Mugler‘s menswear leans towards a deeply sensual side with a sharper, more sculpted construction, as seen through the tailoring pieces, as the real stars of this collection, in the form of straight-cut blazers, broad-shouldered coats and panelled scarves. Cadwallader also includes in the menswear range sophisticated fold-over suit trousers and other motorcore-inspired trousers woven in panels.
As for the women‘s line, the creative director versions a series of belted tops in black and dresses with large slits and/or open backs. But it’s the dresses that really dazzle in this story that marks a milestone in the brand’s legacy with corset dresses, panelled pieces, denim and elegant wrap dresses.
