Viana do Castelo once again became the global epicenter of electronic music. Fans from more than 50 countries gathered at Forte de Santiago da Barra to experience the 2025 edition of NEOPOP, a festival that fuses techno, house, and related genres with a staging that borders on the cinematic.
The first day featured the world premiere of the b2b between Joseph Capriati and Freddy K, a meeting of two generations and creative visions that set the tone for the evening. This was followed by the unstoppable pulse of Charlotte de Witte and a special set by Goldie and Biiia, accompanied by choreography that added an unusual performative component for an electronic lineup.
The second day brought the melodic and expansive techno of Vintage Culture, the surgical minimalism of Richie Hawtin, and the industrial energy of Klangkuenstler, with an intense b2b between Lewis Fautzi and The Advent that united local talent with international acclaim.
The closing ceremony featured a live collaboration between Colin Benders, Lady Starlight, and Sterac, exploring analog textures and improvisation, followed by hypnotic techno from Rødhåd, a closing set from Sven Väth, and a final b2b between IMOGEN and Daria Kolosova that sealed the festival with strength and artistic cohesion.
Over the three days, the visual dimension played a central role thanks to Dublab’s immersive and meticulous stage designs, reinforcing the deep connection between sound and image that defines NEOPOP’s identity. With a world-class lineup, impeccable sound quality, and unparalleled visual production, the festival confirms its return for August 6, 7, and 8, 2026.
