New “The Process”: Zara Moves Forward in Its Exploration of “Fast Couture”

Zara continues to develop its increasingly process-oriented approach with the launch of The Process IV, a new capsule within its line that focuses on design and garment construction.

New “The Process”: Zara Moves Forward in Its Exploration of “Fast Couture”

The Zara collection, designed as a preview of its Autumn/Winter 2025/2026 womenswear offering, the collection extends the The Process concept, first introduced in September 2024, and clearly builds on the brand’s strategic shift towards what has come to be described as “fast couture”.

Following the discontinuation of its previous Atelier line at the end of 2023, Zara has chosen not to replicate it, but instead to incorporate aspects of its logic into the core of its operational structure. Rather than segmenting, the brand has opted to integrate certain value codes — detail, structure and design — into its main womenswear line. The result is a selection of garments that, while still part of Zara’s regular commercial circuit, signal a new creative direction.

The company highlights that the capsule arises from a “careful process” and emphasises the role played by each development phase, from fabric selection to pattern cutting and fitting.

Far from operating as a separate line, this collection aims to reinforce the idea that attention to design is not reserved for exceptional products, but is embedded in Zara’s integrated structure. The pieces in The Process IV are not presented as signature items, but as indicators of the direction being taken within the brand’s value chain.

The collection features 15 pieces defined by fluid lines and Eastern-inspired cuts. It includes kimono-style dresses, garments with deconstructed tailoring, and coordinated sets in neutral and off-white tones. Key items include kimono-sleeved coats, openwork and jacquard tops, as well as shirts and wide-leg trousers in lightweight fabrics. Prices range from €35.95 to €149.

The Process IV reinforces the idea that technical work — not just visual impact — is central to Zara’s current narrative. The aim is not to offer something radically different, but to reposition process within the framework of mass production.
