NewJeans breaks up with ADOR: new era begins for the K-pop group

NewJeans has made his departure from HYBE-owned label ADOR official, marking the end of a key stage in his career.

NewJeans breaks up with ADOR: new era begins for the K-pop group

The news, which has shaken the K-pop industry, was confirmed by the group, almost two months after allegations of mistreatment by the members towards ADOR staff. The split, which has been brewing behind the scenes, comes at a critical time, when NewJeans have made it clear that, despite the conflicts, their passion for music remains intact. However, the future of the band under the NewJeans name remains up in the air. ‘We’re not giving up the name at all, we’re going to keep fighting for NewJeans. Whatever happens, remember that NewJeans never dies,’ said band member Danielle.

The group’s accusations against ADOR are not limited to treatment alone, but point to a deeper set of problems. According to Hanni, another member, the label was not only negligent of the artists’ welfare, but also showed a lack of sincerity towards the art. ‘We faced mistreatment, not only towards us, but also towards our staff. We have experienced constant contradictions, deliberate miscommunication and manipulation. ADOR no longer has a conscience for the music, it is more focused on appearing to be a successful, money-obsessed company,’ Hanni said.

One of the key figures that NewJeans members continue to support is Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR and the creative mind behind its image. Despite Min’s dismissal following accusations of trying to take control of ADOR through questionable practices, the group expressed a desire to continue working with her in the future.

For its part, ADOR has been quick to respond to the group’s statements. In a statement, the company insisted that the contract remains valid and that the break-up has no legal basis. ‘We regret that the press conference on the termination of the contract was held without proper review and without a response to our legal notice,’ the label said, stressing that the agreement remains in place and requesting that the group continue to collaborate on future activities.

Indomie no se conforma con ser un clásico, y ha dado un paso más al asociarse con una de las bandas más populares del momento: NewJeans.
