New generations who grew up watching SpongeBob have probably fantasised about living in Bikini Bottom, or even tasting a Krusty Krab crab made with his magical and coveted secret formula.
Nickelodeon has now wanted to make that dream come true, reinterpreting the fictional restaurant in real life, specifically in the town of Sao Paulo, Brazil. One that will also have a gastronomic space dedicated to haute cuisine.
This themed restaurant, inspired by the underwater universe of SpongeBob SquarePants, will immerse diners in the culinary wonders that unfold in the animation from next April, with the help of the company Fan&Food.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that ‘SpongeBob SquarePants – Burger & Restaurant’ will be spread over 1,000 square metres, and will be able to accommodate up to 254 visitors at any one time.
According to the partners, the first floor will feature a 144-seat burger bar with an immersive Bikini Bottom design. On the first floor, the Flying Dutchman’s Lounge will have 40 seats where ‘fans can enjoy a unique moment inside the Flying Dutchman’s Ghost Ship’.
Meanwhile, the SpongeBob SquarePants House, described as ‘the world’s first and only B.E.-themed luxury restaurant, will be located on the first floor. There diners will be able to indulge in an exclusive menu designed by renowned chef Heaven Delhaye.
Finally, within the premises there will also be a merchandising shop and two children’s spaces, one of which is Casa da Sandy, where children can immerse themselves in the elusive imagination of Sandy Cheeks.
