Nicolas Di Felice transfers his impeccable imagery to Jean Paul Gaultier’s structures

A story of self-discovery inspired by the great city of Paris, where the revolution and haute couture were forged, and which recalls the beginnings of a newcomer to the capital in search of his dreams.

The geometry that defines Nicolas Di Felice‘s designs twists to explore Jean Paul Gaultier‘s abstract universe, opening the doors to a reality very different from the one we are used to but equally attractive. Unravelled silhouettes that strip away the archetypes of haute couture with the aim of revealing a common purpose.

At the same time, it is a tribute to the foundations on which the house JPG built is built, highlighting the precision, manual work, craftsmanship and skill behind the ornamentation.

“A secret spell runs through the air like a phantom thread. The figures of an imaginary conversation cast jet-black shadows. On the way a faceless muse disappears in a reverie of geometry. The chill of exposure fills narrow passages into the past. The fleeting emotion trapped in the folds of handmade creation. Concealed loops hitch hybrid postures to a body in flight criss-crossing textures of windswept memories… The virginal white square melts softly underfoot. An unravelled romance of skin-toned alchemy.”
