From Zellerfeld, pioneers in 3D printed footwear.
Since the swoosh giant revolutionised the footwear world in 1987 with the Air Max 1 and its iconic visible Air cushioning, this technology has become a symbol of both innovation and style. Now, it is pleased to unveil a bold reinterpretation of this iconic silhouette, 3D printed and imagined in collaboration.
The Air Max 1000 debuts in the vibrant ‘Total Red’ colourway, underlining the sculptural silhouette of its laceless upper, printed entirely in 3D. These sneakers play with contrasting textures: smooth surfaces dominate the toe and midfoot, while carbon fibre-inspired patterned detailing highlights the collar, bottom and heel.
The minimalism in the branding is maintained, with a discreet embossed Swoosh and a translucent air chamber in the heel revealing – or perhaps just suggesting – a perforated interior, leaving an aura of mystery that connects to Tinker Hatfield‘s original inspiration: the Centre Pompidou in Paris, with its inside-out architectural design.
The Air Max 1000 not only reimagines an icon, but also points to the future of sustainable and innovative design, fusing the best of Zellerfeld-developed technology with Nike‘s heritage.
And speaking of footwear… This is ‘Ohana Hatake’, Takashi Murakami’s latest idea.
