Lately our DM is always full of links to Instagram profiles for us to discover new brands and give them coverage. “Mention in the comments that brand or that designer and we’ll take care of the rest,” we posted on our profile earlier this 2023. In less than 24 hours we received almost 1500 comments from the young promises that are making it big in the national fashion industry. With the aim that all these interesting projects are not lost in our DMs, every month we choose 6 emerging brands and give them their space in HIGHXTAR. Here are the ones from November 2023!
Outsiders Division
If there is a brand that has caused a sensation in the last edition of the 080 Barcelona that is the Outsiders Division of David Mendez Alonso. His Peter Pan syndrome has taken him far, so far that he has created one of the most relevant brands on the current scene. Based on color, fantasy and vital positivism, from the brand they design for that child that we all carry inside, and that we refuse to abandon. Only 4 people are responsible for creating the fantasy, with an absolute commitment to produce only what is going to be sold.
Javier Guijarro
Javier Guijarro is one of the talents of Spain that has conquered hearts not only in the national scene but worldwide in just six months. His designs have opened the doors to artists such as Karol G, BadGyal or Rauw Alejandro, whom he has already dressed for their music videos. Although being so young -only 23 years old- he still cannot be pigeonholed, the Catalan investigates in the features of the classic male character to give them a new twist and bring them closer to an attitude much closer to his generation.
Evade House
Evade House, founded in 2020 by Evangelina Julia, the brand embraces a sustainable philosophy, seeking to bring blind people closer to nature. The clothing, explored from a unisex approach, challenges anachronistic canons, promoting freedom and progress. The brand does not focus on gender or age, but on the thought of improving society through responsible consumption and recycling. Inspired by a nomadic and collaborative community, Evade House incorporates elements such as Braille labels and recycled materials, with plans to evolve into the use of hemp, seaweed and recycled garments for future collections.
JNORIG
Javier Giron’s unique artistic vision is reflected in designs inspired by architecture and gender fluid silhouettes, fusing cultural elements and opposing concepts. With a focus on tailored clothing, the brand demonstrates a commitment to precision and artistry, offering innovative designs that combine versatility, comfort and sustainability. JNORIG’s futuristic and clean aesthetic adapts to various body types, making everyone feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.
Peter Sposito
Peter Sposito has not stopped exploring historicism, sociology and the contexts of past eras to materialize all that discovery in his collections. What would one day be the best clothing alternatives, obsolete today, are used by the designer to experiment in order to adapt them to the current panorama. In this way, Peter takes inspiration from the history of clothing and fuses it with a more urban vision.
Mundaka
Mundaka, founded in 2014 by designer Belén Vidal from southern Spain, stems from her experience in fashion workshops in Madrid and Paris, highlighting her interest in pattern cuts and traditional shapes. Mundaka’s philosophy reinterprets dressing as a primitive behavior, where clothing not only covers, but becomes an elemental expression of oneself. The garments, made in Spain and Portugal, are more than simple attire; they are part of an internal conversation that escapes social roles, highlighting the peace of simplicity and the dynamism of asymmetrical cuts.
