The rapper Offset, known for his time with Migos, has been hospitalised after a shooting near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. According to early reports from US media, the artist was struck by a gunshot during an incident that took place on the evening of Monday, 6 April. Despite the initial shock, sources close to him say he is in a stable condition and under medical observation, with his injuries not considered life-threatening.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is an American rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur who rose to prominence as a member of the influential trio Migos, alongside Quavo and Takeoff. Beyond his music career, he has maintained a strong media presence, particularly due to his relationship with fellow rapper Cardi B, as well as his influence on urban culture and contemporary fashion.
Authorities confirmed that the incident took place in the venue’s valet area, where the situation was quickly brought under control by local police. Two individuals have been detained, while the investigation remains ongoing. Witnesses cited in reports described Offset shortly before the shooting as relaxed and in good spirits, interacting warmly with fans, taking photos and chatting — a stark contrast to what unfolded moments later.
The episode inevitably recalls the tragic loss of Takeoff in 2022, who was also killed in a shooting. Since then, Quavo has taken an active stance against gun violence, supporting social initiatives and engaging in political advocacy. Although this latest incident has not resulted in fatal consequences, it once again highlights ongoing concerns around safety in the music industry and the urgent need to address a problem that continues to resurface.
