Jewelry seems to have become one of Olivier Rousteing‘s representative codes, already part of his own aesthetic language. Now, beyond exploring jewelry on a user and/or individual level, the creative director does so for Balmain in a collection suspended between mythology, romanticism and droid techniques.
For the new jewelry collection, Rousteing reflects on the mantra “life is art”, projecting collective questions such as the functioning or purpose of art in everyday life, and how, likewise, life itself could limit art. Questions he answers through the mythological studies in this series of jewelry ranging from earrings to necklaces and rings in the shape of skulls.
However, despite the romanticism or nostalgic inspiration, as always, the French designer injects the future into his creations. A concept that he now reflects in the bolt-shaped rings, located at various points on the hand and fingers, of a droid nature, as well as in the large cuffs inspired by Martin Margiela. In order to achieve greater visual impact, Balmain engraves its signature monogram on thicker bracelets that just completed this collection that has already been released on the brand’s website and displayed in the luxury showcases of its physical stores.
