South Korean firm OPEN YY has launched a new capsule collection to mark the Lunar New Year, inspired by the Year of the Red Horse. Named JEOKTOMA, the collection takes its cue from the Chinese character representing a “red horse as fast as a rabbit”, a traditional symbol associated with speed, vitality and constant progress.
The proposal is structured around four pieces: a long-sleeved T-shirt, a cap with a patch, a stress ball keyring and a tote bag with a graphic design. The set combines an item of clothing, a head accessory and two everyday objects, all designed to transfer the visual identity of the capsule collection to different everyday contexts.
The launch is scheduled for 29 December 2025 and is part of OPEN YY’s annual tradition of presenting a special collection to mark the start of the new year.
Formerly known as TheOpen Product, OPEN YY is a Seoul-based brand founded by sisters Jiyoung and Boyoung Kim. Their work is characterised by an approach that balances the functionality of everyday wear with a young and contemporary aesthetic, a combination that has defined the brand’s identity in recent years.
