Opening date for the new Mononoke area in Ghibli Park has been announced

Studio Ghibli’s theme park will have new attractions based on the iconic films ‘Princess Mononoke’ and ‘The Walking Castle’.

Although Studio Ghibli’s Ghibli Park theme park opened a few months ago, it is already preparing to expand with new attractions themed on other acclaimed Studio Ghibli films. The park has launched its second phase, opening new areas inspired by ‘Princess Mononoke’ and ‘The Walking Castle’.

The Mononoke Forest will open on 1 November 2023, just one year after the opening of the theme park. In it, we can find the lush vegetation that characterises the film “Princess Mononoke”, as well as buildings that remind us of the ones we saw in the feature film.

The Valley of the Witches will open a little later, on 16 March 2024. Perhaps the biggest attraction in this area is the replica of Howl’s travelling castle. However, there will also be areas inspired by the film “Nicky the Witch’s Apprentice” and the family home of “Earwig and the Witch”.
