OVNNIE prepares for a dystopian future with Blackout

Layered transfers Bnomio’s artistic practice to OVNNIE’s first collection, an exercise in superimposing pieces.

OVNNIE prepares for a dystopian future with Blackout

OVNNIE, the brand directed by the multidisciplinary artist Bnomio, launches Blackout, a unique coat limited to 20 units in collaboration with the reference brand in down jackets, Pedro Gómez.

The firm with which Bnomio has transferred his artistic practice to fashion, has conceived this collaboration as a unique piece with which he adds another piece to the narrative championed by his first Layered collection. The jacket, with a tailoring pattern, detachable and handcrafted as unique pieces, is added to the Layered narrative, where a dozen pieces inspired by avant-garde and street wear present a multiplicity of complete outlooks.

Each piece of Layered, which now incorporates Blackout to its garment architecture, is a creative exercise materialised in high quality fabrics and careful tailoring in Spain and Portugal. Blackout joins Layered allowing to play with more than 25 outfits through 10 garments of the highest quality, inspired by art, architecture and minimalist conceptions and in which Bnomio transfers its artistic practice.

The collaboration revolves around two fundamental axes: austerity and functionality in the garments. The value of the product is prioritised over the brand, the black marking on the black fabric enhances the authenticity of the garments. On the other hand, Blackout brings Layered to a close with the ability to turn the garment into a waistcoat, remove the hood, and continue the collection’s narrative that evokes a dystopian future, marked by minimalism and architectural inspiration.

Quality and functionality characterise the OVNNIE garments, which in Blackout are expressed in a seven-cell design on the outside, made in Kiss fabric, and the Duvet feather filling, which characterises the high quality of Pedro Gómez products. The inside of the garment, made in Carrara fabric, the down jacket has three inside pockets and the piece is finished off with a long drawstring on the hood, a clear nod to the iconic garment of the Layered collection, the Convertible Pant.

These are the finalists for the LVMH Prize 2024.
