Several snapshots originally taken by paparazzi agencies have been acquired by the brand to become its new official campaign.
Now, paparazzi photos of A$AP Rocky and Rihanna arriving at Carbone are the cornerstone of Bottega Veneta’s latest campaign. In addition, the rapper was spotted in Los Angeles wearing exclusively garments from the Italian house, further extending the campaign’s influence. The images capture the artist doing everyday activities such as buying flowers, running, walking his dog, drinking a smoothie and even paying the electric bill.
The rapper shared details about this collaboration on his Instagram profile, reflecting on the relationship between celebrities and paparazzi: “Throughout history, there has always been a fun relationship between photographers and celebrities. Even when it comes to the rights and use of photos, and the tabloid rush, there has always been a disconnect between celebrities and the photographers who follow and film them. While some celebrities call the paparazzi, other celebrities may confront the photographers. While a very small group, like myself, we don’t make a big deal about it, as long as they post the good angles, of course.”
He continued, “So, in the good light of good angular photos, myself and the creative minds at #bottegaveneta thought it would be cool to bridge that gap and use photos of my daily life taken by photographers as I go about my daily business. So this serves less as a campaign and more as a creative triad brought to you by Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy, my A$AP Rocky persona and the talented tabloid style photographers involved. Cheers and thank you.”
