Patchwork and tailoring at Acne Studios FW22

Johnny Johansson, creative director and founder of Acne Studios, presents the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2022 collection.

Jonny Johansson, creative director and founder of Acne Studios, presents the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2022 collection. In an attempt to establish a new version of nomadic dressing, oversized, relaxed, deconstructed garments and many, many layers have been designed.

The new Acne Studios collection is made up of multiple prints that play with earthy colours such as stone grey, navy blue, moss green, clay red and earthy brown. Creativity and comfort are found in key pieces such as outerwear and knitwear, while volumes and proportions are lost in relaxed trousers. Black leather boots with details, knitted scarves, extra-long necklaces and furry backpacks are not out of place.

“I wanted it to be a very poetic collection, with mixed and matched pieces that give the feeling of having lived for years. Being isolated made me realise how much we are used to travelling. This led me to think about nomadic communities, such as those in northern Sweden, close to where I grew up. This collection is about how a language of clothing evolves within communities, mixing and contrasting pieces with each other,” says Johansson.
