Formichetti presented his second collection for his PDF brand during Paris Fashion Week in collaboration with Modes.
An unconventional take on streetwear that draws heavily on the creative’s passion for extreme sports and corrupts established aesthetics with exaggerated proportions. This is how PDF defines itself, a brand that partners each season with pioneering Italian technical manufacturers to produce exclusive garments that the creative community around Formichetti constantly celebrates.
For this occasion, the designer carries out a profound exercise of reflection and delves into his youth and the characters that accompanied him during his formative years as they contributed, unconsciously, to shaping his creative identity. Through irony, he turns stereotypes on their head and experiments with proportions in a collection that travels through different decades. We find oversized basketball shorts in the purest nineties style or ripped and stone-washed jeans from the 80s, among other key pieces.
“Growing up watching movies starring high school teenagers, I developed a deep fascination with the diversity of individuals, unique styles and captivating personalities in the school environment. Inspired by this fascination, I have embarked on a creative journey to reimagine my ideal group of classmates, blending diverse traits and qualities to form a truly extraordinary and perfect ensemble,” says Domenico.
